Newly engaged? Kickstart your wedding planning with these tips and tricks. Part One

This wedding planning (unfortunately) will not happen on its own. And that means that if you don't want to go crazy, you'll need tools to help you organize this, as well as some places where you'll get wise advice. Let's talk about where to start.

SPREADSHEETS

Please, just trust us on this. No, your wedding plans shouldn't live on in a notebook. No, they also definitely shouldn't live on the back of a napkin. Take advantage of the magic of the technology available to you and dive into some tables. You may not need them right now, but take these tables and save them somewhere (we love Google Drive). We've covered you with everything from the wedding guest list template, to the supplier contact list, to the wedding day timeline. You'll be grateful later.

SET A BUDGET

Setting a budget may seem like you're making up numbers.but it doesn't have to be that way when real couples break up how much they actually spent on their weddings in 2023. years (we know, things have changed a lot since then, but it's still a great starting point). You can also spend some time looking at our real weddings, to see a glimpse into the different real budgets and what people have accomplished with their funds. Armed with this information, you can decide how much you can spend on your guests. We also have sample budgets for weddings from 2,000 to 30,000 euros.

TALK TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Well, you know how you want the wedding to look, feel and go on. Now is the time to sit down and talk to your family. Are you looking for financial contributions? (Staff and readers consider the pros, cons and alternatives here.) Have you thought about what input you want to have? Are there any traditions you want to include-or traditions you want to avoid? Will you have a wedding?

MAKE A GUEST LIST

You will notice that we have set up a guest list before searching for a location. This is because your first step in planning your wedding logistics (after budget) should be to find out who you want to invite. Then make other plans about it.

START WITH LOCATION SEARCH

Now? You're really starting now, friends. We have a comprehensive guide to choosing a location right here. But here's a tip to get started: when you're doing your initial search, try Googling phrases like "wedding at a Northern California beach" or " wedding at a restaurant Šest Topola"and see what appears. Many sites and photographers ' websites are optimized to appear in such searches, so use it to your advantage.

CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING DATE

Choosing a wedding date can be one of the most exciting steps in planning your special day. But before you start marking dates in your calendar, think about a few key factors that will help you choose the perfect date for you and your partner.

1. Season and weather conditions.: Think about what time of year you want your wedding to take place and what the weather conditions are at that time. Do you prefer warm summer days, colorful autumn leaves, the freshness of spring or the magical atmosphere of winter holidays? It is important to consider preferences and comfort in order to make your day as pleasant as possible for everyone.

2. Important events and holidays: Make sure that your wedding date coincides with an important event or holiday that could affect the availability of guests or service prices. Choose a date that allows you to gather all the important people in your life and find available suppliers without any additional stress.

3. A Special Feature Of The Date: Is there a date that has special significance for you and your partner? Maybe the date of your first date, the anniversary of your relationship, or some other important moment you want to mark as your wedding date. Consider whether you want to get married on that particular date or choose a date that suits both of you.

4. Availability Of Important People: Consult with key family members, godparents, and friends to determine if they are available and ready to attend your wedding on the selected date. It is important to consider their commitments and schedule to ensure that as many people as possible can attend this special event.

Finally, choosing a wedding date is a personal decision that should reflect your wishes, needs, and style. Think carefully about all the factors and be sure that the date you choose is right for you and your partner. After choosing a date, you can continue to plan the other details of your wedding and look forward to that special day that will mark the beginning of your life together.
